About Me

How did I come to Yoga?

Hey, I’m Elena and come from Bulgaria, but I’m based in Heidelberg, Germany. Professionally, I work as a Software Engineer, therefore, by having a typically seated job, I know how important it is to maintain a good posture. Back in my university years was the time when I firstly felt the need for more physical exercise.

My first Yoga class was in 2012 and I immediately felt the peace of mind it brought me after the first class. How little did I know at that time that this will become a long-term passion for me. I have been doing Yoga on and off from 2012 to 2016 when I gradually started doing more, mostly self-taught. Then, in 2019 I decided I want to do a Yoga Teacher Training in India in between a job change. I mostly did it for my further education, but also so that I can spread the love for Yoga to other people. Later in 2021 I finally got the courage and the time to start teaching and I love every single bit of this challenge!

Why Yoga & Cycling?

As well as doing Yoga, I am a passionate cyclist. After a few years of working, I knew I needed a new hobby which is practiced outside and is similar to running. So, I decided to take up cycling and bought my first road bike. Mountain bike and Cyclocross bike followed. I think Yoga is a great way to compensate for the all body parts which are not engaged in cycling, meaning all muscles except the quadriceps and calves. Cycling is done while sitting, which is also what I do most of my day.

The thing I mostly love about Cycling is that you are outside in the nature, alone with your thoughts. I bike a lot and therefore I love creating Yoga sequences for athletes and hobby sport lovers. Whether it is only for stretching or also for trying something new which in parallel brings you more peace in your mind and balance in your life..
